Ms. Wang has accumulated extensive experience in the field of intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on trademark law. She has represented both international and domestic clients in numerous cases, including trademark reviews, oppositions, invalidations, revocations, administrative litigations, tort litigations related to trademarks or copyrights, well-known trademark recognition, and domain name disputes. In addition, her non-contentious practice encompasses intellectual property strategy planning, serving as external legal counsel, and handling various other related matters.

Representative Matters

-  Represented Guangdong Hotata Technology Group Co., Ltd. in the retrial of an administrative lawsuit regarding the invalidation of the trademark "Haotaitai & Design". A victory was achieved in overturning the original judgment in the retrial. This case was rated as one of the 50 typical cases of the Supreme People's Court in 2022;

-  Represented Guangdong Hotata Technology Group Co., Ltd. in a case of trademark infringement and unfair competition against Jiangsu Haotaitai, achieving a comprehensive victory. Punitive damages were applied, and the amount of RMB 10 million damages was supported.

-  China State Construction Engineering Corporation v Zhongjian Investment Holdings Co., Ltd.  Ms Wang acted for China State Construction Engineering Corporation (“CSCEC”), the exclusive rights owner of some trademarks that Zhongjian was infringing. The Beijing Intellectual Property Court granted all of CSCEC’s claims as requested and upheld the first instance judgement on appeal.

-  Sealy & Guilin Ligang Network Technologies v Beijing Chukong Technologies Sealy and Ligang accused Chukong of copying their mobile game, Fish Lord. They sued at Guilin Intermediate People's Court and were awarded RMB71 million in damages. This was the highest amount of compensation for any video game copyright infringement in China. Ms Wang became involved in the case after the first instance judgment was issued, she and her team appealed to Guangxi High People’s Court, who ordered a retrial. Eventually, the Parties reached a settlement agreement, which saved the client nearly RMB70 million.

-  Represented Microsoft in multiple software rights protection litigation cases. During the litigation process, numerous properties under the names of the defendants were preserved. Multiple cases have been settled through negotiation, and high-value favorable judgments of RMB 15 million and RMB 10 million have been obtained in some cases.

-  Represented international clients from countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany, including prominent entities like Waters, Pfeiffer Vacuum, Entasis Therapeutics, and The Headington School, in trademark administrative litigation cases, successfully securing favorable outcomes.
