Areas of Practice

Mr Lu’s practice focuses on Intellectual Property and Corporate Legal Services.

As part of his Intellectual Property practice, Mr Lu serves as legal counsel to multinationals and domestic hi-tech companies including Microsoft, Siemens, Dassault, Autodesk, Altair, Altium, the Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Science (RCEES), and others. He has strong ties with the administrative intellectual property agencies and has assisted clients in numerous important and complex administrative enforcement matters. By closely liaising with national IP departments, he represented clients in administrative enforcement cases throughout many cities, such as Shenyang, Changchun, Tianjin, Dongguan, Zhongshan and Zhuhai.

He is very proficient at resolving contentious intellectual property matters, both in the courts and through arbitration, that relate to patent licensing, patent infringement, trade secret thefts, and copyright infringement. He is especially skilled at conducting pre-suit investigations, and the collection, fixation and preservation of evidence.

In the field of corporate law, he helps clients with designing shareholding structures, investments and finance, and resolving shareholder disputes, as well as day-to-day corporate governance, compliance, contract reviews, and labour law issues. He has represented clients in high-profile litigations where a controlling shareholder was accused of encroaching upon the interests of other shareholders, and where senior executive officers misappropriated corporate assets.

Mr Lu started practising law in 2005. He joined Lifang & Partners as a partner in 2015.
