On November 1st, 2012, Dongcheng District Government held a ceremony to retain 5 legal counsels for the new administration. These newly appointed legal experts include well-known scholars such as Mr. Ma Huaide, Vice-President of China Political and Law University, Mr. Wang Xixun, Vice-President of Peking University Law School, Mr. Wang Yi, Vice-President of China Remin University Law School, and esteemed lawyers including Mr. Li Jingsheng, founding partner of Longan Law Firm, and Mr. Xie of Lifang & Partners. Their tenure is five years.

Senior officials of the District Government and from the district's Judicial Bureau attended the ceremony and afterwards held the first working meeting with the new counsels. They had a lively and in-depth discussion on various issues of governance and law enforcement.
