LIN Li
Area of Practice Ms. Lin specializes in patent prosecution. She has an background in science and technology as well as law. Her expertise and experience comes from 18 years of government employment in the patent area. She is familiar with all relevant laws, regulations and practices in all areas concerning patent examination procedural and substantive issues, reexamination or invalidation, administrative litigation, patent exploration, administrative enforcement, patent strategy, patent management, and IC layout design protection.
Working Experience
Ms. Lin joined Lifang & Partners and Beijing Intellectual Property Institute (BIPI) in September 2007 to specialize in patent prosecution. From 2001 to 2005, she served as a patent examiner on the Patent Re-examination Board of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), where she was responsible for substantive patent examination, re-examination and invalidation, and undertook a great number of patent administrative litigation cases. From 1998 to 2000, she was an investigator in the legal affairs sector in the Patent Office of SIPO, responsible for administrative review and patent related matters. From 1991 to 1997, she was an assistant investigator in the SIPO patent administration department, responsible for patent exploration, administrative enforcement, patent strategy study and patent administration for State Council ministries and commissions. In 1988-1989, she was an editor with Industrial Property, the official journal of the former China Industrial Property Society (now China Intellectual Property Society). In 1983-1987, she was assistant engineer of integrated circuit technical inspection and was responsible for quality management of military products. She received SIPO¡¯s Meritorious Civil Servant Award in 1989 and 1999.

Qualifications Ms. Lin became a Chinese licensed patent attorney in 2005 and practices in both Chinese and English.
