Areas of Practice

Mr. Liu’s major practice area is intellectual property law, including patent and trademark filing, intellectual property strategy, corporate intellectual property counsel, intellectual property licensing and litigation. Mr. Liu has successfully handled nearly 500 patent applications and more than 200 IP litigation cases. The representative cases including, he represented Microsoft in a copyright infringement case against a famous computer manufacture; he represented Foxconn in over 30 patent infringement cases; he represented a Japanese company in 12 patent infringement cases; he represented a Korea company in 24 patent infringement cases; he represented Novartis in patent invalidation cases against GSK and he represented LV and Atlas Copco in trademark cases.

Working Experience

Mr. Liu began practicing intellectual property law in 1998. He joined Lifang in January 2010 and is now head of Lifang’s Guangzhou Office. Previously, he helped found Guangdong Scihead & Partners and Liu & Partners. He was Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee of Guangzhou Lawyers Association between 2003 and 2009, and has been awarded the “Outstanding Achievement Award” and “Outstanding Deal Award” from the Guangzhou Lawyers Association.
